1- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for financial year 2021-22 on February 1.

2- Indian Coast Guard celebrated its 45th Raising Day on 01st Feb 2021.

3- Rajasthan has become the 5th State in the country to successfully undertake Urban Local Bodies (ULB).

4- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has launched a mobile application named Union Budget Mobile App for hassle-free access of Budget documents by Members of Parliament and the general public using the simplest form of digital convenience.

5- Infrastructure company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has received an up to Rs 2,500-crore contract for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor project.

6- Vikram Solar has commissioned a 140 MW solar power project for state-run power giant NTPC at Bilhaur, Kanpur spread across 700 acres.

7- Happiest Minds Technologies Ltd will acquire US-based Pimcore Global Services for USD 8.25 million (about Rs 60 crore).

8- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented the trophies of best marching contingents of the Republic Day Parade 2021, in New Delhi.

9- BCCI will not be conducting its premier first-class domestic tournament Ranji Trophy for the first time in 87 years as the parent body opted for the Vijay Hazare Trophy as per the wishes of the majority of the State units.

10-The Lucknow Metro became the first metro in India to use ultraviolet (UV) rays to sanitise train coaches.

11- The government revised downwards the economic growth rate for 2019-20 to 4 per cent from 4.2 per cent estimated earlier.

12- Jat Regimental Centre Marching Contingent has been adjudged as the best marching contingent among the three services during the Republic Day Parade at the majestic Rajpath on January 26, 2021.

13- Ministry of Tourism has dedicated three virtual pavilions – Dekho Apna Desh, Statue of Unity & Incredible India in Bharat Parv 2021.

14- President Ram Nath Kovind launched the pulse polio programme for 2021 by administering polio drops to children below five years of age at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

15- SBI Cards and Payment Services (SBI Card) said Rama Mohan Rao Amara has taken charge as the new MD & CEO of the company.

16- BCCI secretary Jay Shah was unanimously elected as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

17- India’s 24-member shooting contingent topped the medals tally in the first Asian Online Shooting Championship.

18- Talented grappler Sonam Malik stunned Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik 7-5 in the finals to claim the gold medal in the senior women’s national wrestling championships.

19- An arboretum showcasing the floral diversity of the Shivalik hills was inaugurated at Jeolikot in Nainital district.

20- The Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection for January 2021 has almost touched 1.2 lakh crore rupees.

21- Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu clinched their second national T20 championship as they beat Baroda by seven wickets in the final of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Ahmedabad.

22- US President Joe Biden has appointed Indian-origin Raj Panjabi to lead his Malaria Initiative, which is mainly in African and Asian countries.

23- Indian-American Bhavya Lal was appointed by NASA as the Acting Chief of Staff of the US space agency.

24- The launch of the first unmanned mission of Gaganyaan is slated for December 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

25- Air Marshal Manavendra Singh took over as Air Officer Commanding-in-chief of the Southern Air Command.

26- Alok Kumar, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, took over as Union Power Secretary.

27- The Ministry of Education has been allocated Rs 93,224.31 crore in the 2021-22 Budget, an increase of more than Rs 8,100 crore from the revised estimates for the current fiscal.

28-Tata Consumer Products will acquire Bengaluru-based Kottaram Agro Foods for Rs 155.8 crore to expand its product portfolio.

29- Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has received approval from the Department of Revenue for undertaking e-KYC services for NPS and APY subscribers.

30- Veteran India and Bengal pacer Ashoke Dinda announced his retirement from all formats of cricket, bringing the curtains down on a career spanning one and a half-decade.

31- Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated four projects worth around ₹ 4700 crores in oil, gas and infrastructure sectors at Haldia during his visit to West Bengal on February 7.

32- US aerospace major Boeing has entered into a strategic collaboration with Air Works Group for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its Poseidon 8I maritime reconnaissance aircraft and the VIP transport fleet which are being operated by the Indian Navy and the IAF respectively.

33- Fujifilm plans to invest around USD 200 million (about Rs 1,450 crore) to open 100 health-screening centres in India.

34- The Indian Army”s Ahmednagar cantonment recently hosted a victory flame brought from the National War Memorial in Delhi to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

35- Google Cloud announced the appointment of Bikram Singh Bedi as the Managing Director for its India business.

36- State-owned BHEL has commissioned the second unit of 1600 MW Gadarwara thermal power project in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

37- Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the state’s first small hydroelectric project on Kali Ganga river in Rudraprayag district.

38- “Sunny Side”, the erstwhile ancestral house of General K S Thimayya, who served as the Chief of Army Staff from 1957 to 1961, has been converted into a museum, which inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind, in Kodagu district.

39- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has handed over three Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk III to the Indian Navy and two ALHs to the Indian Coast Guard as part of its 16 ALHs contract during the ongoing Aero India 2021 at Air Force Station Yehalanka, Bengaluru on February 05, 2021.

40- In a befitting honour to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Ministry of Education has decided to name residential schools/ hostels funded under Samagra Shiksha of MoE, as “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose residential schools/hostels”

41- India has become the first country in the world to reach the 5 million Covid-19 vaccination mark in just 21 days, the Union Health Ministry said.

42- Retired IPS officer Bhavesh Kumar Singh was appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Uttar Pradesh.

43- Bengal retained Anustup Majumdar as the captain for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy domestic one-day tournament scheduled to be held from February 20 to March 14 across six cities.

44-Uttarakhand’s Ankita Dhyani provided a glimpse of her immense potential as a long distance runner by breaking Sunita Rani’s National U20 record in the women’s 5000m on the opening day of the 36th National Junior Athletics Championships in Guwahati.

45- GAIL (India) Ltd, the nation’s biggest gas utility, has put West Bengal on the gas map of India after it completed laying a Rs 2,433-crore pipeline.

46- India has become the third topmost country in the world in terms of the number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered.

47- Ministry of Tourism organised a webinar titled “Astro-Tourism: The Next Frontier of Nature-based Tourism” under Dekho Apna Desh campaign.

48- Northern Warriors produced a clinical bowling show to beat Delhi Bulls by eight wickets in the summit clash and clinch their second title of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

50- Scientists have found the first geological evidence of an earthquake at Himebasti Village on the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

51- A programme ‘engage with science’ has been initiated for engaging students, teachers, principals and leaderships of schools to develop scientific temper and foster a culture of continuous learning as well as to bring science and technology to the forefront.

52- Veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma became the sixth Indian and the third pacer from the country to take 300 wickets in Test cricket, joining legends such as Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble.

53- India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was named the winner of ICC’s inaugural Player of the Month Award for his heroics in the recently concluded Test series against Australia.

54- India hockey team skipper Rani Rampal will compete with chess ace Koneru Humpy and young shooter Manu Bhaker for the BBC ‘Indian Sportswoman of the Year’ award after being nominated for the honour along with two others.

55- Indian drama “Pebbles”, directed by filmmaker Vinothraj PS, has won the top honour, the Tiger Award for best film, at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

56- Indian tennis will be buzzing with a lot of activity next month with 78 tournaments, including the pending 2020 National Championships and six ITF tournaments, set to unfold across the country after a halt in action caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

58- India will overtake the European Union as the world’s third-largest energy consumer by 2030, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said as it forecast India accounting for the biggest share of energy demand growth over the next two decades.

59- Wipro 3D and Engine Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) have collaborated for the development, manufacturing and airworthiness certification of acritical aero-engine component operating in the hot zone, using metal 3D printing.

60- Indian spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar has been recognised as a Global Citizenship Ambassador by a prominent American university in recognition of his pioneering work as a peacemaker, humanitarian, spiritual teacher and global interfaith leader.

61- Indian Navy’s largest war game – the biennial Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise (TROPEX 21) – which commenced in early January, is currently underway with participation of all operational units of the Indian Navy including ships, submarines, aircraft as well as units of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Coast Guard.

62- Experienced left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat will lead the Saurashtra team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, beginning February 20.

63- Karnataka’s Abhin Bhaskar Devadiga and Kerala’s Ancy Sojan claimed the under-20 men and women’s 200m crowns respectively on the final day of the 36th National Junior Athletics Championships.

68- The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has joined hands with a UK-based space agency for a collaborative project on impact-based flood forecasting.

72- State-run power producer NTPC said the fourth 150 mega watt (MW) unit of Kameng Hydro-Electric Project of its subsidiary North Eastern Electric Power Corporation is commercially operational.

79- To mitigate issues related to the unscientific disposal of municipal solid waste in Jammu city, the administrative council approved the establishment of an integrated solid waste management project by the National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

87- Seven time olympian Seiko Hashimoto was named as president of the Tokyo Olympic organising committee.

88- Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who was given additional charge of Puducherry, was sworn in as Lt Governor of the Union Territory.
